Museum of San Marco
The Museum of San Marco is set in the beautiful and almost intact Dominican Convent of San Marco. It preserved the widest selection of paintings by Fra Angelico in the world. The great Renaissance artist frescoed all the cells of the Black Friars in the convent. The visit will unveil the true reason why the covent of San Marco was so closely connected to the Medici family and remained so important a place during the centuries. The history of the convent is also related to Savonarola, a key figure in the cultural and religious life of Florence at the time of Lorenzo the Magnificent.
